Default Expired Domain for SEO?

Some people buy an expired domain because they want to get some extra traffic from it. There might be some old visitors come along. Do you agree with this?

Yes, I agree with it. It is possible that old visitors will come, if you are booking any expired domain.

Do you know that out of the 75,000 domain names that expire each day, over 50,000 dot com's, that 25,000 get registered immediately as they expire and drop off, 25,000 expired domain names are immediately registered by investors to test for traffic..

This is called "domain tasting" and its big business..

So once they snatch up all these domain names, everyday, they test them for 3-5 days, they keep the ones that generate traffic, and they get a refund on the other 23,000 that do not generate traffic..

the only negative about registering an expired domain name as far as seo goes, some times google or yahoo will bann a domain name, and then you register it, but its not good because it can never be listed in google or yahoo.. there is a link for this service to tell you if a domain name is banned, but i forget what it is lol..

Here is one of the places to check for G bans - If the site has no indexed pages it will say it could be banned but usually it is not it has just been a parked page for a while. This place also says if the name is known to be banned from AdSense.
You can always apply for reinclusion if you are unlucky enough to get a real banned domain.

Yes, beside old traffic will come, also back linking they have might be still exist on the site link. I have purchased one of expired domain with a good back link. Seem that back link still live on the site where linking to my site. However traffic only stay on the few month first. After that, the visitor come from the old site slowly had gone. I don't know may be cause the site content now not too interest them. Or other reason.
