Free vs. Paid Web Hosts
For the past five years we have reviewed, researched, and tested hundreds of free web hosts. We've also read countless user reviews based on actual user experiences. So what have we learned? Good free web hosts are a thing of the past!

You get what you pay for
Many first-time web users assume free web hosting is the ideal way to build a first site, but quickly learn that free web hosts rarely offer much-needed assistance and support to non-paying customers. Other web users who sign up with free web hosts usually become so frustrated with pop-up banners, limited web space, and the lack of technical support that they soon switch to paid web hosting.
The Paid Web Hosting Alternative
Consider saving yourself the stress and hassle of free web hosts by choosing a paid web hosting service right from the start, and get the service and features your site needs. Take a look at our Top 3 Paid Web Hosts. They have solid reputations for good service at affordable prices. If you're still determined to use a free host, our Top 3 Free Web Hosts are better than most. For a complete list of free web space providers, see our Free Web Hosts listing.

Re: Free vs. Paid Web Hosts
its hard to admite, but paid hosting is always better than free!
firstly, free servers are always low quality: the ftp server is slow or just turned off... :/ problems with mysql (if it had)
but and the paid servers have their minuses, suchs as tech. support, you need to wait for few days till admin notice and answer to your email (dont know how about you, but i'mm always having this problem)

Re: Free vs. Paid Web Hosts
I would not trust free. There is always a catch. Inexpensive on the otherhand, so long as you have others who have used them for hosting you can better guage whether its worth it at any price.

The thing is, free hosts don't owe you anything and there's no incentive to offer reliable services.
