Default Easiest way of changing text on site

I want to make a simple website, one page (text only) has to be able to be changed in a quick and easy way. Maybe something with a login name and a really simple editor. How can I do this? thanks in advance

    Hi,

I use xsitepro for my websites.
If you are only doing one website then not worth the money.
If you plan on doing many one page websites, it allows you to manage all of them, optimize the seo, and monetize them. Don't have to know code to use it.

Coffeecup was something I cut my teeth on. They offer a free version. It is a very simple webdesigner software.

Or if you are looking to have a one page website which is simple and test only, why not use the basic web design software with your hosting company?

1and1.com can give you a domain, host it and offers the webdesigner.

I know that about.com has some excellent sources for best and worst and training courses for free to get you going.

(Because of the simplicity and the desire to change it quickly, a blog such as wordpress can do that for you and then you edit it online. OR use fantastico in cpanel. Your hosting company may have either joomla or drupal. Both are free, open source and you can update your site from any computer.

Look to your domain company and hosting company first for the basics.

That is a best candidate for Joomla website.

Content is King for joomla and may also be on all website.
Easy management and easy updating is main consideration for Joomla!.

    Hey,

There are a couple of methods available for you.

    1. I personall y love Joomla, it is a great way to edit content, you will need hosting that has Linux/MySQL capabilit ies.

    2. Something else you can do is check with your web host for a possible Fantastic o app where you can just click a button and it is installed instantly ...this includes several content managemen t systems, websites in HTML, blogs and more.

    3. Mentionin g blogs above, wordpress is great also.

Now many of these opensourc e apps have free templates with them as well, you can stay updated.

How much text is there that needs changing? Do you need a WYSIWYG editor?

If it's just a small bit of text you could build a PHP script that would take a form and write the contents to a .txt file. Then use a PHP include to include that txt file in your page. I built a system like that recently for a small project.

If you need more than that, and more features like a WYSIWYG editor, you could look into simple CMS systems.

    I also think that way.
Format all in CSS so if I have any changes to make I don't have to edit each pages but in the CSS code.

Go to the page script, and it will open, then copy the codes to a notepad. Then just plain edit the text part that you want to change, without altering any part of the html code. You are done.
