Fixed or fluid designs?

Nowadays there are a lot of different screen sizes, so what do you use, fluid or fixed layouts? On fixed layouts, the width of the website is always the same, while on fluid layouts it's flexible and depends on the size of the screen.

Obviously fluid layout is the best way of ensuring better visibility of your website. As the resolution of different pcs are different, you have to opt for fluid layout.

It really depends on the type of site you are creating. If I was building a forum, then I would certainly do fluid, but for most corporate sites we do fixed. Usually built for a 1024 screen resolution which ends up being around 970px wide.
